Paypal Verification using Credit Card Issued by Indonesian Bank

Many has told that credit cards issued by Indonesian Banks are not able to be used to verify Paypal account. This is not true anymore, at least for credit cards issued in Indonesia by two banks as I described below.

Last week I talked to my friend, and our conversation lead us to online payment method, and he said that he could use his Credit Card from Niaga Bank to verify his Paypal account.

Later on I also open a Paypal account and use my Citibank Credit Card for verification.
The verification methods is as follow: Paypal will charge for USD 1.95 , and provide 4 digits unique number in their billing statement to us. This 4 digits number then be used to verify our Paypal account. After successful verification, Paypal will return back our money.

In a couple days I received the billing statement from Paypal in my credit card account (I check using Internet Banking facility), then I go to my account on Paypal insert the 4 digits unique number there, and instantly I become a verified Paypal user with personal account type.

After a few days, when I login to Paypal, I see that I received bonus of USD 1.95 from Paypal. This nominal resides on my Paypal fund. Looks like that is how they return back the charge

To withdraw money from your Paypal personal account there are two ways; withdraw to your credit card account or withdraw to your Bank account. If you want to withdraw to your Indonesian credit cards, there is a USD 5 costs. You could also set up your bank account as your withdrawal destination. If you withdraw for amount of more than Rp.1.500.000 there is no withdrawal costs.

Our Web Development Journey

Almost a couple years a go, me and my wife was buying a web hosting service and a domain name, we were planning to run a website that will be a place to put our thoughts and our articles, also we planned to offer IT services and use this website as a promotion media and online catalogues for some products.

It never happen, we only screw around for maybe a month or two, it was my wife who works around creating themes and some product catalogues, also put some writing there, but that was all, Until the domain and hosting registration finally expired.

Very very late root cause analysis had been held today regarding that past situation. We agreed that it was caused by lack of our online time. During that time we haven’t got any affordable internet connection that could be used to do things conveniently. Now we are using an unlimited internet access from Telkomsel Flash, and having a quite good browsing experiences with it.

Just this week our friend told us about a free hosting and free domain. We then register and found we like it.

The hosting www.000webhost.com provides decent space and bandwidth without requires us to put any promotion media on our website. However they politely asks the users if they could support the company by telling others about the free services. They provide you with a familiar control panel with everything you need, file transfer tools, Fantastico Auto Installer, mySQL database and many more.

The free domain www.co.cc give us a quite good name like www.suryosucipto.co.cc or www.febrilianita.co.cc.

So we start again digging out our knowledge around web environment setup and development. I wonder and would like to see how far this free services and the unlimited internet access could bring us this time .

Will we able to starts our Online IT services shop in near future? or we will end up like our first trial? we shall see. For now I use the free website as a RSS Feed Aggregator for this wordpress blog.

Sikorsky S-76 Vs Eurocopter EC-155B

It’s been 10 months I had go back and forth to a remote site using Helicopter. for the first 6 months I had been on Sikorsky S-76 flights. Then somewhere in March they changed the Chopper to Eurocopter EC-155B.

Sikorsky S-76 I recognized as a very stable chopper, take-off process and landing in offshore platform is smooth. However from the interior you could see sign of aging, you could also feels that the chopper had been there for some time from the looks of the cockpit instrument. But there are no complain there, all working fine, and the pilots for those chopper are very capable.

EC-155B has an impressive build, looks durable and light, the flight instrument are modern and sophisticated. However the process of take off and landing are not as smooth as Sikorsky S-76. A noticeable vibration is always presents during take-off and a lot more when this chopper approaching platform for landing.

It’s been almost 2 month after my last time with EC-155B when I return to site again. Then I feel the vibration is not disturbing me anymore. I still can feel the vibration, but it just feels OK. It wonders me, how fast my body forget the stability and a very confident feeling I have on a ride with Sikorsky S-76.

Maybe that’s what our body always do, make a quick adjustment to suit our environment. But fortunately (or unfortunately?) our mind takes more time to forget.

I am longing to ride again the S-76, my all time favorite chopper.
